Bioregional Weaving

Collective actions and systematic change for healthy ecosystems

Caroline tells us about an initiative called the Bioregional Weaving Lab that begins research with the geology of a river catchment, beginning with deep time and acknowledging the layers of use over time. The lab identifies 3 zones, the natural, the economic and the transitional zone, and the goal of the biological weaving lab is to encourage movement from the economic and extractive zone to a more nurturing, but still cultivated organic use of the land and occupying the more attainable
transitional zone, the emphasis being on the regenerating of an area and not on sustainability which doesn’t go far enough to redress the balance of nature.
